Herniated Disks

A herniated disk, also known as a bulging or compressed disk, is the result of a disk in the spine being injured. The spine is made of 26 bones, or vertebrae, which are separated by soft disks filled with a jelly-like substance. These disks cushion the bones of the spine while also keeping them in place.

A bulging disk is a disk that ruptures or slips out of place. This can cause a large amount of back pain or sciatica if the slipped disk presses on a nerve.
