Across the country tailgating has become something of an issue. A story was posted recently on Twin Cities.com that gave a tragic account of an auto accident that left one boy dead and two others injured after a car hit the boys, riding their bikes at the time, from behind.  Sadly, the driver of the car fled, which intensified the situation to a hit-and-run.

“A 35-year-old Addison man was apprehended early Friday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident Thursday afternoon in the town of Hartford, authorities said.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department said a motorist struck three boys on their bicycles from behind about 5:30 p.m., fatally injuring a 13-year-old and seriously injuring two 12-year-olds, before fleeing from the scene on Highway K. The car was found 15 minutes later at a park and ride lot near U.S. 41.

The registered owner of the car was found early Friday at the Germantown home of his girlfriend, Lt. John Bucks said.

The three boys attended Slinger Middle School.”
