A pit bull terrier that attacked his owner’s son in Spring Valley, New York had attacked another visitor to the house three days earlier. The son was 9 years old and the visitor was 4.

The attacks in New York came during National Dog Bite Prevention Week. The 16-month old pit bull attacked the 4 year old on Thursday when his mother brought him with her to visit his friend. The dog attacked his owner’s son less than 48 hours later. The second attack created a long gash in the 9 year old’s forhead and tore his tear duct.

After the first attack, the dog was ordered to be quarantined inside his owner’s home. Following the second attack, the dog was taken by officers to an animal shelter where he was euthanized.

A 14 year old British girl is in critical condition after a horrific boating accident left her with a fractured skull, among other injuries.

The accident occurred over the weekend on the River Orwell near Levington Marina in England. The victim was being pulled on an inflatable raft behind a speed boat. She was then hit by another yacht that was out on the river.

The victim, once she was brought to land, was taken by ambulance to Iswich Hospital. She was later transferred to Addenbrookes where she remains in critical condition with a fractured skull and brain injuries.

A spokeswoman for an ambulance company said that an air lift (like Life Flight) ambulance was also on the scene but was not used to transport the victim.

Authorities are still unsure as to what exactly happened to cause the accident.
