Allstate Insurance Co. released their sixth annual “Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report” earlier this month in which they rank the country’s 200 largest cities by residents’ car accident frequency.  The insurance company uses its claims data to rank the cities.

Coming in at first with the nation’s best drivers was Fort Collins, Colorado.  The city’s residents are only in an accident approximately every 14.5 years.  Last on the list was Washington D.C., where drivers are in an accident every 5 years and are 95 percent more likely to be in an accident compared to the national average.

Wisconsin’s two largest cities, Madison and Milwaukee, were both in the top quartile of cities.  Madison was ranked 26th on the report with its residents being in an accident every 11 years.  Milwaukee ranked 42nd with drivers getting into an accident every 10 years and 7 months.
