Drivers of Toyotas recently questioned the cars' electronic functioning after many cars seemed to accelerate by themselves, which caused the manufacturers to recall over 12 million vehicles. Now, studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation have found that the sudden acceleration is not because of an electronic problem within the vehicle.
The manufacturers of Toyota have claimed that any sudden acceleration was due to mechanical problems, such as floor pedals that stuck or a mistake in the design of the pedals that caused them to get stuck under mats on the floor of the car. No one has been injured because of this defect.
