A 47-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were killed on Monday in a plane crash that occurred on Lake Winnebago.
According to reports, the man was piloting the plane, and the woman was the plane's only passenger. The two people were leaving Oshkosh, where they had attended the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture, when their single-engine plane crashed for unknown reasons. The plane crashed in water that was 6 feet deep, about 700 feet from shore. Boaters rushed to the plane to find that the man and woman were dead.
The cause of this accident is still under investigation.
