A former gastroenterologist from Marshfield will serve five years behind bars and ten years extended supervision after he plead guilty to four counts of second-degree sexual assault. The man admitted to assaulting female patients who were under anesthesia.
The first complaint against the doctor was in 2005. In 2009, a woman awoke from the sedative to find the doctor touching her sexually. He has since surrendered his medical license.
As part of his extended supervision, he must abstain from drugs and alcohol, undergo counseling, register as a sex offender, and cannot hold a job where he would have access to patients.
