Student killed in pedestrian accident

Posted on Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 at 6:13 pm

An 18 year-old high school student was killed this morning in a pedestrian accident in Sheboygan.

The teenager was walking to school when he was truck by a leaf collection truck operated by the Department of Public Works just before 9:00. He was across the street from his school.

The man was unconscious by the time paramedics arrived and died shortly after arriving at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Sheboygan Police say he succumbed to serious head and internal injuries.

Reports show that no other vehicles or objects were on the road when the accident occurred that could have obstructed the driver’s or teenager’s view. Sheboygan police and troopers from the State Patrol will reconstruct the accident.

Our deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of the young victim.
