The death of 32 year-old professional stunt motorcycle rider, Jim “The Real Death” McNeil, has been ruled an accident after his motorcycle experienced mechanical failure during a practice jump.
He died on Sunday morning from blunt force trauma to his chest and neck after he missed his landing. McNeil was in Fort Worth, Texas for an exhibition at the Texas Motor Speedway. He was an experienced rider and was wearing all his protective gear at the time of the crash.
McNeil had competed in five X-Games and was on the Boost Mobile FMX professional team for nine years. According to the tour manager, this is the first death in fourteen years.
