Man Charged in Death of Cyclist

Posted under Uncategorized

A 33-year-old man is facing felony charges after being tied to the death of a woman who was struck by a car while riding her bike in June.

The 33-year-old, Gregory Moyer, has been charged with causing an accident involving death or injury, driving under the influence of alcohol, and related traffic violations. He is accused of being the driver of a Jeep Wrangler that struck a 19-year-old bicyclist while hurrying to beat the gate at a railroad crossing. The victim, 19-year-old Autumn Grohowski, died on June 11 at Hershey Medical Center.

There are conflicting descriptions of the accident and Moyer’s actions immediately afterwards but there is no question that Moyer was driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .14 and there were two empty beer cans in his jeep that were found by police at the scene.
