Fourteen people have filed a product liability lawsuit against the manufacturers of defibrillators and pacemakers that are said to be defective. Many of them even had to be hospitalized after experiencing complications with their pacemakers.
The plaintiffs are suing Guidant Corporation, Cardiac Pacemakers and Boston Scientific Corporation for their injuries. According to the plaintiffs, the pacemakers were short-circuiting and had sealant deterioration. They claim that they were unaware of the possible dangers of using the pacemakers and that the defendants concealed product defects in order to avoid negative publicity.
The 14 plaintiffs claim that the products were defective and unreasonably dangerous. They are seeking damages for mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, lost income, suffering, medical expenses, and incurred expenses.
