A settlement agreement signed by Toyota recently will require the car giant to pay $1.2 billion over safety concerns, an online report by CNN stated on Wednesday, March 19.
The agreement was made based on the car company’s admission that it deceived the public and the U.S. safety regulators over issues of sudden acceleration. The agreement requires Toyota to be subjected to government monitoring for three years, at the end of which the charges could be dropped.
